Noise Reduction with Foam Insulation

AIA products effectively reduce noise.

AO, our “˝ lb” product, is a soft foam that absorbs sound and is therefore a more effective sound barrier.

A2O, our 2 lb. product, while not technically an acoustical material as it does not absorb sound, can still be helpful in reducing noise levels.

They both help to control sound in the following ways:

Reduce Sound Transfer Into Buildings
American Insulation Applicators Spray Foam reduces the sound (traffic, airplanes, shouting, loud music etc) from outside the building that is usually carried into the building through cracks and air leaks.

Reduces Sound Traveling From Room To Room
American Insulation Applicators Spray Foam reduces airborne sound making the home acoustically tighter and more private

Muffles Sounds Coming From Loud Rooms
American Insulation Applicators spray foam, a closed cell foam, will block the transmission of sound from one area to another. Spraying a layer of foam on an interior wall will muffle sound around loud rooms and maintain privacy in homes, offices, hospitals, schools, libraries, etc.

Reduces Echo Effect & Reverberation
American Insulation Applicators Spray Foam, when sprayed onto very hard surfaces, reduces the natural echo. For instance, a room with concrete walls and floors with a very loud piece of machinery can make for a very noisy situation. The sound of the equipment will keep bouncing off the concrete surfaces. Foam on the walls will reduce the echo, thus reduce the sound.
